Typical Daily Routine Schedule

While each day at Learners Montessori Nurseries is unique, we prioritise a consistent daily routine to help children feel secure and confident in their environment. A structured nursery schedule provides familiarity, ensuring children know what to expect throughout the day.

In addition to this typical daily routine, Learners Montessori Nurseries in Kingsbury, Edgware, and Golders Green also incorporate special celebrations and activities throughout the year. We celebrate birthdays, organise theme-based activities (e.g., trick-or-treating for Halloween), and provide opportunities for children to explore beyond the nursery. This includes nature walks, day trips, and other enriching experiences designed to foster learning, social development, and curiosity.

Breakfast Club

Children are provided with a nutritious and balanced breakfast to help them start their day with energy and focus. This morning meal not only supports their physical growth but also prepares them mentally for the activities ahead. We usually serve cereal or porridge, both rich in essential nutrients, ensuring that each child receives essential nutrients to fuel their learning, play, and overall well-being throughout the day.

The Day Begins

After finishing their breakfast, our little ones enjoy free time to explore the classroom at their own pace. This period allows them to engage with various learning materials, interact with their peers, and settle into the day's routine in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

circle time

Circle Time

Our children gather in a circle, creating a warm and inclusive environment where they start to sing songs, then share stories about their home life, and engage in discussions about the week's theme. This specific time helps foster communication skills, build confidence, and encourage a sense of community among the children.

montessori work time

Montessori work cycle

When it is time for activities that require complete concentration, children have the freedom to choose activities that interest them, allowing for self-directed learning under the gentle guidance of their teachers. They are encouraged to explore the classroom, select materials independently, and engage in hands-on play at their own pace. Once finished, they learn the importance of responsibility by returning each activity to its designated place before moving on to a new one, fostering both independence and respect for their learning environment.

During the work cycle (10 AM-11 AM) a snack table is available for children to help themselves to a selection of fruits and water is available throughout the day.

Our children are then guided to the outdoor play area, where they have the freedom to explore and engage in activities that spark their curiosity. The space is thoughtfully designed with various play zones, including areas for physical play, a market stall, a sandpit, water trays, and gardening, providing endless opportunities for learning, creativity, and social interaction.

Lunch

Children are served freshly prepared, nutritious vegetarian meals each day, carefully planned to accommodate a variety of dietary needs, including allergy-specific diets. Meals can be personalised to ensure that every child receives a balanced and suitable meal.

To encourage responsibility and teamwork, two children are chosen as lunch helpers, assisting with setting up tables and serving food.

Lunchtime is more than just a meal, it is a social experience where children sit together, share conversations, and develop essential social skills in a warm and inclusive environment.
